In addition to our grocery, supplements and cafe, Golden Temple also offers a number of services to our customers, including yoga classes, massage, tarot readings, and special events.

Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is the yoga of awareness, working on body, mind and spirit. It focuses on strengthening the nervous system using pranayama breathing techniques, postures and meditation. The owners, Harinam Singh Khalsa and Harinam Kaur Khalsa, have been serving the community since 1973 by offering instruction in this yoga.

Meet the Teacher

Bridgette René

Bridgette René has been teaching Hatha style yoga since 2014. A long time health and fitness advocate, she earned 200 hour yoga teaching certifications from Peace Through Yoga, in Indianapolis, IN and Akshi Yogashala in Rishikesh, India. Bridgette also teaches Kemetic Yoga and is a certified Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner. Bridgette’s yoga classes and Thai Yoga Bodywork aim to improve overall well-being, balance and flexibility while reducing stress and discomfort. She is known for her authentic, non-judgmental teaching style.

Massage

Golden Temple offers massage therapy from licensed massage therapist Michele Nailen. Known as Crossroads Healing Massage, Michele’s massage therapy offers treatment for a multitude of issues. According to studies from the University of Miami School of Medicine Touch Therapy Institute, massage provides numerous health benefits. Massage can lead to reductions in stress and alleviation of pain. It can also improve immune function, lower blood pressure and reduce migraine headaches.

Michele Nailen

Michele became a licensed massage therapist in 2004, attending Virginia College in Birmingham and graduating with top honors. She has an Occupational Associate Degree in Therapeutic Massage. he has extensive experience in the field of healing, and has worked in the health food industry for over 30 years. She is also a Level 1 Reiki practitioner and has extensive experience working with clients in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Tarot

Tarot is an ancient form of divination practiced for centuries throughout Europe and later in the Americas. Employing a specialized deck of cards, the reader guides an individual through the mysterious labyrinth of the self, allowing the subject to better understand their path, gaining clarity – from the shadowy recesses of the past, through the often confusing present, to aiding the subject in understanding what might yet come. While mainly used as a form of entertainment today, one can better understand ones goals, motives and aspirations by use of the Tarot and one skilled at interpreting the complex symbols contained in the cards.
